Core Program and Support Options
The core of the program is contained in the parent training book and DVD, and the year-long parent workbook. With careful study and persistent effort, parents have successfully helped their children using these materials. The ideal support option is to have a QST therapist or parent trainer teach you the massage, help you work through any difficulties, and support you until your child gets the maximum benefit. Here are the therapist support options available to you.
OPTION 1
There is a QST therapist near you, and you want to work with a therapist. We see the strongest improvements in children when parents receive formal training and ongoing support in the massage. It would be ideal if you could do this, particularly if your child has severe autism. Otherwise, you can avail yourself of Option 2.
OPTION 2
There is a QST parent trainer near you. Parent trainers have completed an approved online training program to become QST Parent Trainers. These individuals have learned to train and support parents, but are not trained to work with children directly.
OPTION 3
There is no therapist or trainer near you, but you would like to have individualized online or Skype support while you learn to work with your child. You can email our Master Trainer, Pam Tindall, for a Skype/email consultation or purchase a Distance Coaching and Support session. The trainer will observe you giving the massage via Skype, and suggest changes in approach and technique to improve your massage, specific to your child’s needs.
