QST-2 Child Therapist and Parent Trainer Course​- Adelaide, Australia

July 15th- November 15th, 2019

COURSE FRAMEWORK (see table at bottom for complete schedule)
  • Initial Training – Therapists will meet in Adelaide at Cynthia Poulton Hall , King William St., North Adelaide July 17th-20th, 2019.  Clinical Supervision will continue through November, 15th 2019. Upon completion of the QST-2 training, students are eligible to take the online QST Down syndrome training available here: http://www.qsti.org/qst2-ds.html
 
  • Clinical Supervision – Therapists will videotape a minimum of three selected QST treatments over four months and review videotapes and progress notes with their supervising therapist.  Most therapists find that distance supervision works well for them. Families who participate in the clinical supervision will get access to the Online Parent Course free of charge.
 
  • Case Studies – Therapists will discuss their case studies on two different occasions at the half-way point of the training and at the end point of the training (via Skype in a Group Conference Call) 

TRAINING FEES AND EXPENSES
  • Course registration fee – $2,150. . The course fee includes the 4-day initial training; all distance clinical supervision, access to the online QST2 training class and online parent course for therapists and access to the online parent course for families. Instructions on how to make payment will be sent to you after your registration is approved. 
  • Please take the time to get to know the Qigong Sensory Treatment Training Course Prerequisites before applying for this course.
  • Transportation – Therapists must arrange and pay for their own travel and transportation (including airfare and ground transportation) to and from the initial training venue
  • Lodging/meals – Therapists must reserve and pay for their own accommodation. Lunch, morning and afternoon tea are provided throughout the course.

Expectations:
Therapists participating in the QST-2 Child Therapist and Parent trainer course with distance clinical supervison will need to recruit a family with a child that meets the eligibility criteria (Read eligibility criteria here.) to work with during the course.  In addition, students will facilitate pre- and post-testing, complete all 20 treatments with the child over the 4-month training period, videotape a minimum of three QST treatments, review videotapes and progress notes with their supervising therapist, discuss their case studies on two different occasions and receive a satisfactory assessment of their performance by their supervising therapist..

  • The site for the initial 4 days of training in Adelaide at Cynthia Poulton Hall , King William St., North Adelaide July 17th-20th, 2019
  • Training will run from 9:00 am-5:00 pm each day during the 4 day in-person training
