MODERATOR CERTIFICATION FOR AUTISM ONLINE PARENT TRAINER COURSE
Qualified applicants who successfully complete all the requirements of the QST-3 Online Course Moderator training program under the guidance of the Master trainer will be certified to teach the QST-1 Online Parent Trainer Course.

QST-3 Course requirements:
Continuing education credit
Upon successfully completing the QST-3 course, students will be awarded QST-3 certification and a certificate of attendance documenting 20 hours of continuing education. Such certificates are useful for satisfying continuing education requirements. Please note that guidelines around continuing education credits vary, and you may wish to consult your professional association representative for further guidance.
Qualified applicants who successfully complete all the requirements of the QST-3 Online Course Moderator training program under the guidance of the Master trainer will be certified to teach the QST-1 Online Parent Trainer Course.
Prerequisites:
- Complete the QST-1 Online Course and QST-2 Therapist Course.
- Successfully give the QST parent training intervention to five families with children with autism aged 2-11, and demonstrate positive outcomes on pre-/post-testing results.
- Document outcomes with application: Submit 5 pre-/post-test Sensory and Self-Regulation Checklists to the supervising master trainer. Pre- and post-test scores should be entered onto an Excel spreadsheet with a column showing the change in scores from pre to post. This Excel spreadsheet is to be submitted along with copies of the completed pre-/post-tests.
QST-3 Course requirements:
- Candidates will successfully complete the online course as an online course moderator candidate and supervise two QST-1 students with guidance from the master trainer. Activities will include:
- Reviewing, grading and providing feedback for the students practical exams
- Reviewing student quizzes and teaching to missed quizz questions
- Reviewing students clinical reports of weekly supervision and providing feedback
- Reviewing Skype video of sessions when necessary
- Demonstrate competence in the teaching skills necessary to effectively supervise two QST-1 students, identify and teach to individual areas of weakness, and troubleshoot difficulties encountered by supervised students and their families.
- Demonstrate mastery of theoretical and practical concepts taught in the course, by picking out a relevant weekly discussion question for the discussion forum, under the guidance of the master trainer.
- Learn the technology and master it as an instructor under the guidance of the master trainer.
